The Wobbly Club placed Hedgie in a cache called Amesbury Old and New on 14th January. Miss G. has since received an e-mail from the owners of the cache, stating that the cache is in their front garden, and if he doesn't move in the next couple of weeks they will retrieve him and help him further on his journey. Amesbury is very near to Stone Henge, so maybe Hedgie will get to see the famous stones quite soon!
Yesterday, a caching team named 'The Wobbly Club' retrieved Hedgie from Church Micro 4404 Breamore. This means that they will be looking to help him on his journey. You can view thier profile here
Hedgie has been placed in a cache just south of Salisbury (which is about half way between here and Land's End). To view details of the cache you can click here. The cache is a multi cache and also part of the Church Micro series. Church Micro 4404...Braemore This is the church near to where Hedgie has been placed. This is the photograph that Gudge & Pidge posted when they placed Hedgie in the cache! Yesterday (Sunday), Hedgie was logged out of the cache at Haughley Green by some cachers named Gudge& Pidge. They say they will move him on very soon. Miss G is excited about this move, as Gudge & Pidge come from Salisbury. If they take him somewhere near Salisbury, he will be well on his way to the first part of his goal... Watch this space!
Miss G made the most of the opportunity to go caching yesterday and, as she has not been able to place the new geocache in Feltwell yet, she felt it was time Hedgie started his journey. Hedgie is now in http://coord.info/GC41GFD which is just north of Stowmarket in Suffolk. Hedgie enjoyed a country walk and visiting 10 other caches before being placed in the container. You can also track Hedgie's progress by "watching" him through your www.geocaching.com account, if you have one. If you haven't already done so, why not ask your parents to creat an account for your family?
Hedgie has now met all of the classes in school. The children are very excited about following him on his travels. Miss G. has a new geocache waiting to be placed somewhere in Feltwell. She is just waiting to meet with the person who can give her permission to place it where she wants to put it. Hopefully she will have placed the cache by the end of next week and then we will have to wait for it to be published on www.geocaching.com before someone can go to find it!
Miss G. will announce when the cache has been published. So come back to the blog soon! Today Hedgie has been introduced to the children who go to Host Nation on Day A of our timetable. So far, all of the children have been very excited about following his progress and there may be some new geocachers amongst his followers. For families who do not yet have geocaching accounts, these can be created at www.geocaching.com
Hedgie is looking forward to meeting all of the other children in the school over the next few days. Once he has been introduced to everyone, then he will be released to embark on his journey. Please come back to the blog to follow his progress. |
