Hedgie is looking forward to meeting all of the other children in the school over the next few days. Once he has been introduced to everyone, then he will be released to embark on his journey. Please come back to the blog to follow his progress.
Today Hedgie has been introduced to the children who go to Host Nation on Day A of our timetable. So far, all of the children have been very excited about following his progress and there may be some new geocachers amongst his followers. For families who do not yet have geocaching accounts, these can be created at www.geocaching.com

I don't know how I did not know about your class website before the Hedgehog Highlights came out yesterday, but somehow I missed it last year. Anyway- you have a fabulous website with great challenges and you already know we love geocaching! We love following the two travel bugs we have moved on through caching, so I know we will be thrilled to follow the progress of a TB with such a personal connection. Go, Hedgie, Go! ~Colbert Family

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I love geocaching too! So far, it seems that all of the children have been quite excited by 'Hedgie" and I think this project may encourage some more families to get involve with geocaching. It's such a great way to spend quality time together and you get to explore new places, too!

I hope you get to do some, Kaden. When you've been on your first geocache hunt, let me know where you've been. There are some really good caches in Thetford Forest - look out for caches set by Weston Wanderer; most of her caches are set out on circular walks and she uses a variety of containers! Remember that when you first start out it is a good idea to look for the geocaches that are highlighted as 'beginner' caches. They should be a little easier to find when you start out. After a while you'll start to notice some of the giveaway signs that there is a cache around. Another way to start is to go with someone who is already experienced in caching - they can help you with handy tips to get you started!
